Do you remember that night at Tube n' Axe? You might find yourself saying those words if ever you visit this great party place. Its grown up a little in the past few years so no more 4am's but the Worlds Highest Bungy is still just around the corner. Relax under the trees in the garden or go for a ride down to Storms River National Park to behold this beautiful area. You can also wonder down the street to see the town or climb onto a cable to go tree hopping with the nearby canopy tour guys. The evenings are always a mix of things, have a few too many drinks at happy our or have a game of pool in the bar. The meals here are great so ask for the menu. We cant say more...

Dijembe Backpackers Lodge

This is one funky and fun place to be while planning your days in Storms River. They will advise you on all the local stuff and then some more, ask about their Black Water Tubing. You can relax in the garden around frog city but you might be asked to play soccer by their very lovable dog. You can also book your time in hot water as they have a Jacuzzi on the top deck. The rooms are great and the place is clean and well run by their imaginative staff and owner. If you like horses then there are a few who will be waiting for you in the garden, book your ride at the bar. They also have mountain bikes if you are a bit afraid of the furry kind. Great meals and a really homely friendly atmosphere and that's that.

Seal Point Lodge and Backpackers

Guide No: GR1731 -::- Tel: 083 312 2772 -::- Mail: nealeangie@polka.co.za

This place is slightly more on the up side and for the surfers with a bit of cash. Take a double and store you board and bags and then head out to check on those famous waves. Surf movies are the order of the day when the day wont break so just chill and find yourself another occupation. There is lots to do around so just chat to the staff and find out what local activities are on the go. Apparently there is a story behind the board with a bite but we haven't heard it yet so please send us an email and explain. theboard@theguide.org.za

A beach, a bar and a great spot make this the place to be if you just want to relax and have some fun. Island Vibe seems to grow every time we visit but the staff always are friendly and helpful. If you are up for a surf - grab an instructor a board and wetsuit and head out the gate. The views of the beach almost aren't views because its at your feet. The bar is a non stop mixture of music, friendly people and way too many drinks. When you wake up you are welcomed into the bar again for filter coffee and a really great breakfast. Everyone here seems happy to spend their days in the comfort of Island Vibe.

This is a real treat, if you have been looking but haven't found it then try here. This super friendly comfortable backpackers will make you feel right at home. They are back from the beach but within walking distance and you can see the surf from here or you could just ask the owners what they think. This place is relaxed but offers all the comforts you would expect from a well run backpackers. We especially appreciate the spacious communal areas! Take a walk to town and do your shopping or head off to the beach for a walk or just laze around fro that tan. They will help you arrange surfing so just ask and you will receive. This is a great place not to be missed if you headed this way.

Jeffreys Bay Backpackers

Surf, surf, surf, we keep on hearing this wherever we go in JBay so again this is what you will hear about here but somehow a bit less than usual. We found this a nice change. They welcome you and then let you know what up around the town and let you head off in your own direction. They have lots to do including surfing so just ask and if you feel the need to just sit around then find the pool and bar and that's that. The rooms are comfortable so you can get a good nights sleep if you need it.

Take a look at this wonderful place and then head out to see Super Tubes just a stones throw away. Their rooms are stylishly comfy and you will have to choose between them. When you feel the spray heading through your window you will know its time to get up and start your day. Head off to town for a look at the coffee shops or down the road to the factory shops that will weigh down those bags. If you are not quite up for the surf then there are as usual always other options so look into the local activities or just laze around the garden and enjoy the bar.

Cristal Cove

Guide No: GR1734 -::- Tel: 042 293 2101 -::- Mail: cristalcove@telkomsa.net

Hmm, sounds like a place I would want to stay a while so take yourself and locate yourself just here. Check out their apartments if you would like to have some time to think, write or do those surf reports. Super Tubes is a hop, step and a jump away so make sure you bring your board. Town is also close by so take a stroll down the streets and do some shopping. There are coffee shops, restaurants and bars all over so if you find yourself needing a bite to eat or something to sip then this is it. There are also the local activities to inquire about so just ask and you may find yourself with a few more options. This is a really peaceful place to spend your days surfing so just chill here for a while.
