Brief info on Lesotho
Discover the wonders of the Roof of Africa & the Kingdom of Lesotho. Ranging from 5,000 ft to 11,425ft above sea level you will feel on top of the world. The beautiful mountains surrounding the five main towns/areas (Maseru, Mafeteng, Quthing, Leribe and Mokhotlong) will leave you spellbound.
The Basotho Ponies are the most popular way to explore the countryside and you will find willing guides in most areas. There are endless hiking trails and rock climbing is a must (bring your own equipment).
You can get to Lesotho by car but a 4x4 is recommended for exploring. Local minibus taxis are also an easy way to get there.
The weather is warm in summer and can be freezing in winter (-18c) so make sure you pack well. MORE INFO and a large Google Map...
